Matt Ahern-Wirth - General Manager
When you walk in the door, you will be greeted by our General Manager Matt Ahern-Wirth, who joined the Allied Auto Works team in 2012. Matt enjoys helping customers with their vehicle service and repairs while at the same time knowing he is building lasting customer relationships with them. He has been in the automotive industry for over 20 years and is a college graduate in business and marketing. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Monique Marie and his two children, family, and friends. He enjoys traveling and the outdoors. Watercraft, motorcycles, and golfing are some of the outdoor activities that Matt enjoys. Matt and Monique have two children, Maddox and Makenna. They keep Matt and Monique on their toes. He currently lives in San Jose with his family.
Roberto Davila - Service Advisor
Meet our Service Advisor, Roberto who joined Allied Auto Works in February 2022 and works alongside Matt at the front counter. He has been in the automotive field since 2001 starting as tech and working his way up to service management along the way getting his Associates In Service Management from Sequoia Institute/Wyotech in 2006. Roberto has always liked cars but did not know much about them until being exposed to the maintenance side and how they worked and so off to automotive school he went. He enjoys all types of cars and the challenges they offer on their unique problems when they come into the shop. Roberto is married to Monica (Mony) since 2002 and they have 2 daughters, Maya (12) and Maggie (9). In his personal time, he enjoys reading (psychology, philosophy, astronomy & investing), working on his classic 72 Buick Skylark, camping & hiking and of course spending time with his family. He is a sports fan of the Giants, 49ers, and Warriors, and enjoys all kinds of music and drama/suspense movies. Ask him what he likes about working at Allied and he will tell you the individuality of each tech, working and learning from Matt and the owner Brian who is like a dad/big brother overseeing everything and keeping everything running smooth and calm. Eric Casillas - Shop Foreman
Eric joined Allied Auto Works in March 2017. His interest in cars stems all the way back to when he was a boy. His father always worked on his own cars and showed Eric how to fix and repair problems the cars had. Watching his father repair his own vehicles and learning from him, he quickly learned and knew he wanted to follow this path. He attended Wyo-tech and received his education in mechanics while working at Pep Boys as a cashier and an entry-level technician. Once finished with schooling, he was eager to move his career along and has loved it ever since. He knows the car industry is always changing and evolving so education never stops. Eric married in the Summer of 2017 to his long-time girlfriend. They have two children, ages 9 and 12. Eric’s hobbies are working on his own project cars at home on the weekends and going to car shows with the family. They purchased their first home in 2019 and now live in Gilroy. Eric is a well-rounded technician and has added his experience and knowledge to the Allied Auto Works Team.
Joshua Decena - Technician
Joshua came on board in April 2014 as a Shop Assistant helping support the Service Managers and the technicians. Studied and graduated at De Anza College in the Automotive Technology program and in January 2018 made the transition as a technician. He has been very excited to enter this career path and learn from his peers. His personal hobbies consist of playing soccer and golf. Josh was married in 2017 to his wife Tiffany. The first baby was born end of April 2019 named Cameron. They also have a dog who will be kept busy with that new baby chasing him. Josh is also trained in electrical equipment diagnostic from ETS in Indianapolis, IN, and was working as an equipment technician before coming to work for Allied Auto Works. He chose to work at Allied to help him gain the knowledge that will be necessary to become a great diagnostician in the automotive field.
Daniel Burkhardt - Technician
Dan joined Allied Auto Works in November of 2019. He has over 12 years of working in the automotive industry. His educational background includes training at CCOC (graduated in 2007) and Evergreen Valley College for Automotive Technology from 2008-2010. Upon graduation, he secured his first entry-level technician position at Jiffy Lube and worked his way up to an Assistant Manager/Lead Technician position there. In 2018, Dan moved on to work for Nissan until the later end of 2019 before joining Allied Auto Works. At Allied Auto Works, he saw the opportunity to further his skills and knowledge in the automotive field. Dan's outside interests and activities include throwing darts in a dart league and watching his favorite sports teams, the San Francisco 49ers, and Golden State Warriors. Dan was married in 2022 to his wife Tracey. We believe Dan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team here at Allied Auto Works. Ed Ramirez - Technician
Ed was referred by our technician Eric as a shop he should come work for and in June of 2021, Ed joined the Allied Auto Works team. Ed graduated from San Jose High and completed his automotive training at Sequoia Automotive Institute in Fremont where graduated in ‘98. He has been working in the industry for over 18 years starting in the transmission industry at Soquel Transmission in Santa Cruz and then working for Firestone for the last 7 years before joining Allied Auto Works. Ed has always been around the automotive industry even as a kid. He had uncles who raced cars and his dad was part of the pit crew. He was exposed to the garage side of racing and decided that working on cars was something he would like to do when he grew up. Ed is married to his wife Gloria whom he met in school and they have a 19-year-old, Natalie, who is attending SJSU, Emily, 14 who is an artist, and 12-year-old Edward who plays baseball for the Saints Baseball Club. Ed hobbies include motorcycles and Datsuns including attending races in Laguna and Datsun roadster shows. His favorite baseball team is L.A. Dodgers and Minnesota Vikings for football. Since being at Allied Auto Works, he enjoys the organized and friendly atmosphere and also a wealth of knowledge that he can still learn from.
Ihab Mezerreg - Shop Assistant
Ihab is our newest team member, joining Allied Auto Works in May 2024. He assists managers and works with techs, customer shuttle, ordering parts, and inventory control.
Ihab was born in Montreal, Canada, but has lived in the Bay Area for the past twenty years. He loves spending time outdoors in nature with friends or family either hiking/running trails or mountain biking.
Ihab has a background in computer science but has shifted to pursue a degree as a Doctor of Chiropractic while working. He would like to open his own practice one day, maybe even a mobile service, so he can travel more while helping people improve their quality of life.
Shane Aberg - Shop Assistant
Shane joined Allied Auto Works in June 2019 as a Shop/Tech Assistant. He assists managers and works with techs, customer shuttle, ordering parts, and inventory control. Shane says he enjoys driving customers home after they have dropped off their car because it gets him a chance to know the customer and build relationships. He is learning there is a lot that goes into ordering inventory and parts for the shop and keeping track of what needs to be reordered on a daily basis. He has also started helping the techs with some repairs like brakes and such. Shane graduated from Archbishop Mitty High School, Class of 2020. He is attending The University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, and is entering his Senior fall of 2023. He was recruited for both Division 1 Football (O-line) & Track&Field for throwing. He will be majoring in Exercise Science with a minor in business or communications. Go Tommies! He is a big Marvel fan, loves sushi and a good steak, and music and, I am sure video games are in there somewhere (NFL Madden). He is also a Bay Area sports fan. Go 49ers, Warriors, Sharks, and Giants!
Rhett Aberg - Shop Assistant
Rhett came on board as an Archbishop Mitty Community Volunteer during the COVID-19 crisis to fulfill his community service hours during the pandemic. He chose to help our essential workers who work the frontline every day, keeping your vehicle safe and dependable on the road. Rhett assists in general cleanup around the shop, land maintenance, and inventory.
Rhett is the youngest son of owners Brian and Amanda Aberg. In his spare time, his hobbies include sculpture, sketching, and, science/biology (including the sea world, reptiles, and dinosaurs). He also enjoys gaming like most teens. His favorite all-time movie is Jurassic Park. Rhett is a double-certified scuba diver, receiving his certification at 13. He has an orange corn snake named Mango. He is attending Archbishop Mitty High School and is currently a Senior, graduating in 2024. He is very glad to be on-campus and learning in the classroom. In June, he attended a community service immersion trip in Monterey with fellow students for a week to help with the environment for animals and our food source on farms, serving food at the local food bank and working the lands.
